thats what i think about the damon deal. honestly, good luck to him in yankee stadium. i believe the yankees overpaid for him. his arm will be severely tested in the cavernous CF in the bronx. but as far as that lineup goes, there is no sleeping on it. every single hitter has the ability to make you pay. yanks fans just better hope that cano doesnt fall into the sophomore slump that seems to plague so many good young players.Jack Bauer kills for Jesus: 10

Re: Johnny on the Spot??
I wasnt too excited to see him in NY. I was hoping for Tori Hunter. But its a good move for the Yanks. They didnt have to trade Cano or Wang and they got a great lead off hitter and a fast CF. Granted he doesnt have a strong arm but its definitely a step up from the current state of Bernie. This is also a good move because it takes the Boos away from A-rod and Giambi when they go to Boston. Damon is going to be boo'ed like no other in that first game.

Re: Johnny on the Spot??
probably, make no mistake, i'm not a bitter sox fan, i know the yankees are getting a very good player. one of the best leadoff hitters in the game, and a pretty good centerfielder. i simply believe they overpaid for him. year four of his contract is going to be like bernie redux.

Re: Johnny on the Spot??
I'd be surprised if he stayed in ceter field in NY. They should move him over and let someone with better coverage take CF.
Gee, the O's signed Jeff Conine this week. Look out AL East, there's no stopping us now
Peter Angelos is a moron.

Re: Johnny on the Spot??
he'll stay in centerfield. he's going to cover more ground than either shef or matsui. and matsui was pressing too hard at the plate last year when they made him play cf. until matsui or shef are gone, he's going to give them the best coverage in cf.
