Help!!!!

I HAVE A QUESTION
i had my hub replaced, and my pinion and ring are bad for my 96 grand cherokee.

I needed my jeep for work this week so i had it put back together minus the pinion and ring so i have only 2 wheel drive.

my mechanic replaced my hub on the left front without my two front axles and while test driving i took a turn and my left front tire almost fell off . and my new hub inner ring i guess you and call it fell off as well.

Can you drive on just the hub without the axle , or do you think i might have gotten a faulty aftermarket hub from auto zone.

Also I am wondering if anyone has a spare ring a pinion they are willing to sell.

The gear ratio is 3.73

Im a broke college student and bought this jeep 1 week ago.

I am willing to pay a good price for a used ring and pinion and if it wasnt a faulty part a new hub for the left front.

THANKS guys

brian

im located in chicago i could pick up parts.

Re: Help!!!!

You can run without the front axleshafts if you remove the front driveshaft AND install the front outer axleshafts. The front outers have to be bolted in or the hub will seperate and you or somebody else could be injured or killed.

There has been jeepers killed by installing front axles without shafts and the bearing seperates at highway speeds. The bearing is only pressed together and relies on the stub shaft and nut to hold together under the weight of the jeep.
