Re: fenders

Why do you want the flares?
1 Is it cause you like the look of those?
2 cause you have wider tires now and need them covered?
3 you want to cut your fenders for off highway adventures?

I can't help you with the Bushwackers cause they are expensive ( at least for me too) you could always try to find a used set on the jeep forums or maybe ebay?

What I did with my stock ones is cut them and raised them (after I removed some sheet metal) I still have not finished the rears yet.

I have seen people use stock TJ's and Rubicon flares.
Personaaly I like the look of using 4 stock TJ rear flares all around the XJ.
Using stock front TJ flares on the front of an XJ doesn't quite look right (at least for me)
There are a few write ups here and there.

Re: fenders

IMHO bushwacker flares are the worse POS out there. Ya they look pretty, but even if you get with in a couple feet of a rock or tree, they explode :)

I'm with Berettajeep, TJ flares, dirt cheap and boy can they take a beating.

Re: fenders

I don't remember where, but I saw a photo of an XJ once that had Ford Explorer flares on it... Probably an Eddie Bauer set.
Found it, scroll down to the end of this:
