OK...

I am in week 9 of 18 training weeks for the Chicago Marathon. The marathon will be held on October 12th. It is just 2 months away!

My long runs are at 15 miles. I am running 1 @ 7 mile run per week and the other 4 days have 4 mile runs. I run the long runs at a 12 minute pace (I just want to finish my first marathon).

My Training Schedule...

I am running the Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half-Marathon Saturday morning. I am going to start with an 11 minute per mile pace and hope to switch half-way through to a 10:30 minute mile pace (negative splits). If I can maintain it, I can set a PR for this course (and hopefully for my half-marathon experience).

Wish me luck!

I finished the Georgetown to Idaho Springs half-marathon in 2:26:00. It was a lot of fun, though I did get some charlie horses in my last 2 miles. I don't think I was hydrated enough...

Umm... Err... I didn't finish last either! (Darn close, though). I did beat my time on the course from last year by 2:01!
