44 to 46

hello and my name is sal and i buoght a 1993 zj 5.2 awd limted. with a blown 44rh (i think or 44re) can i put an 46re in a stock 1993 5,2L zj>? instead of that 44.

and if so what parts do i need to swap over to a 46re?

I would say it does since the 46RE was introduced on the ZJ in 1998 with the 4.0, 5.2 and the 5.9 liter engines. As for the t.case, the 46RE was mated with a NV242 or NV249. I don't remember what the 93 models had and if the bolt pattern and splines are compatible. Someone in the Forum that has more experience than me would be able to answer that for you.

If not compatible, you can install a different input shaft in your transfer case to make it work. I likely have the correct one you need.
