there are all the rules for jeep speed and really just follow the guide lines for what is allowed and peice it together one by one when i pick up another xj i wanna build it for jeep speed preferably a 2 door 5-speed 4.0L is what i want...
ok now what would a guy like me with a 90 5-speed 2.5L do lol nobody loves the 2.5L and it makes me sad ... oh well i guess if i want fancy toys i gotta go buy a 4.0 xj
The part you are talking about if i remember correctly is just a breather hole for a valve cover its a 2.2mm orifice that most places don't sell you might just have to use some ingenuity and get a grommet that will fit and adapt from there
Thanks for all the help and its doing better . When it bogs down if I feather the gas its accelerates 100% better ... and I checked MAP sensor back line and it seems to be working just fine.
so get this... I went and bought a heynes for my xj and was reading into it and happen to notice the firing order pattern... low and behold, ever since I bought the jeep say 4 years ago the firing order has been off.... How its been running all this time is a mystery to me. but now that it is...
my 90 xj started out being a little rough idling, then it started oscillating really bad to the point where it would just stall... now it wont even start and is backfiring throught the TBI? any ideas...
which tire is it that feels like it is stuck in place or is it all of them? and if you could get someone to watch u drive it and see if it is literly stopping the wheel or just grinding behind the wheel
Ok so .... I went outside it wouldn't start... ended up pop starting it because it wouldn't jump. So i go maybe a block down the road put a few gallons of premium gas in it and it dies on the way out... won't start again at all won't turn over my radio and interior buzzer don't even work now ...
It misfires alot... and as for the IAC and fuel pressure specs I have no clue where to locate them or how to test them but I will look into it ... thnx for the help.
So here is my dilemma, My 90 xj injector o-ring went out and caused some nasty problems like overflowing throttle body and such and my alternator bolts broke off in the block. got both fixed at the family shop and now im still having the same problems as before. It a stock 1990 xj 5-speed...
thnx for the advice bounty_hunter, I wish i could find an xj or mj 2.5L 4WD and make it a donor for $500 or so because in FL even if its not running people want $1200 for things lol  but maybe with me joining the army soon i can find one and bring the parts home to my jeep
Thnx alot for the reply and its kinda hard to find parts down in FL for wheeling besides mud we really don't have any parks for wheeling or free range land to play on without getting yelled at and chased off. but I will see what i can find and if anyone has any idea weather or not the 4 cyl...
I am really new at wheeling but am an aspiring mechanic and love jeeps and wheeling what little i can do so far with my jeep but ... I have a 90' 2.5L xj 5-speed. She runs strong when she isn't being picky but what would I need to make a non 4x4 .... 4x4 . I know i am gonna need transfer case *...
