it's possible! I'm gonna have to take a closer look, but i thought all my wires were good. I didn't have any left over hardware after installing it though, so that's somewhat a good sign.

yes I suspect it's running the whole time. I'll have to check that out. Any idea how to fix that? Or is it just something that will happen? Because there does not seem to be much room for adjusting.

Alright I put in a new engine this week (4banger) and it works great, and I'm still working on the 500 mile break-in period. I forgot to mention I also got a new starter. The only issue right now is sometimes-- not all the time-- when i turn the key it will turn over several times before the...

well i'm confused, but still diagnosing. I discovered of all things that my negative battery ground was not grounded-- just hanging there... but then i realized I HAD gotten the engine to start during that time it wasn't grounded.... So obviously I grounded it to the engine block. Now this...

I believe it may have been angled into the block just so it was falling right on top of the oil pump. got it adjusted and i'm all set! it definitely wasn't just a wiggle and push job, there was something in the way. Thanks guys!:shades:

Update!! I just went to an autoparts store and they tested the brand new starter.... and it works fine. what else could it be??

ust put together my new 4banger, and the oil stick doesn't want to go all the way in. It gets all the way up to "wavy" part, but it actually feels like it's tapping something metal when i shove it as far as possible. it also shows little or no oil when put in as far as possible. what you think??

ok, just finished putting a new 4banger in my jeep, and a new starter. When I turn the ignition the battery/accessories come on, the engine turns over, and you hear this clicking noise- mechanical not electronic. the first time it happened we thought the starter was not properly engaged, but...

I was fortunate enough to get a smittybuilt 54" high jack from a friend for free, but putting it up to the rear of the jeep, I don't think it will fit inside with the mounts I plan on making for the family roll bars--- at least with the hardtop on. Will it fit, or are most of you running that...
