Check the calipers. Either they are loose, or one of the pads is loose most likely. You are probably hearing the pads clunk against the mounts.

The a/c pulley is supposed to stop and start as needed. There is a clutch in the pulley that only engages the compressor when needed. Are you running the a/c or defroster? Both will trigger the compressor to run.

I know on my gc when the alarm goes off I need to unlock the driver door with the key to disarm it. Have you tried that?

Have you checked all the skid plates and such? Is the rattle inside the housing or external? If something is loose it may just be a rattle.

It sounds like one of two possible issues.
1. You are in part time 4wd on dry pavement. This should be avoided as the system can bind, causing the symptoms you Are describing. Make sure you are in full time 4wd or 2wd.
2. With the wheels fully turned, the u-joints on the front axle can bind...
I don't know if it is the switch or if something is out of adjustment. Mine doesn't do it often enough for me to worry about dropping the transmission to look into it. Try the test I suggested. If nothing else, you know how to get around it in the meantime if this does work. Maybe the shifter...
Sounds like you have your culprit If it'll start in neutral and not park, it may be the switch. Try shifing to neutral, then back to park. PUSH the shifter forward toward park and hold it. See if it starts. I've seen where sometimes it is in park but the shifter is not fully hitting the safety...
Personally I would not bother. They are infrared on those Jeeps and only work for like 10 feet anyway, if you can actually manage to point it right at the little sensor on the overhead console. You would be far better off installing an aftermarket keyless entry system, alarm , or remote start.
Most likely it is a noisy lifter. There's stuff that can be added to the oil to try and free the lifter if you are really worried about it. Personally I would not worry unless it gets noticeably louder.
The "ticking" could also be a valve tap (which is distinctly different from a knock), which is nothing to worry about unless it starts getting louder. Is it a regular tap tap or an irregular sound? My GC "ticks"when its cold, and it goes away once warmed up or when i idle up.. It's the valves in...
Personally, I'd go to another shop. The only way he could truly know if the trans is shot is to drop the pan and inspect it in the first place. Doing a flush shouldn't do anything to the trans other than put clean fluid where there is now dirty fluid.
Out of curiosity, are you checking the...
