I had a 99 XJ that sounded like that and it was the track bar bushing. It sounded like my suspension was coming off.

Dude I thought the same thing lol.. That's ridiculous.. And jeep sponsors the show and they call it a "car".. Never heard them mention "jeep" yet..

For me personally, I spray off the moving parts right away. But I've learned that if it's real thick mud, I let it dry first then chip away at it with a flathead screwdriver and remove the large chunks with my hands and dispose. Then spray off the leftover. My driveway really appreciates it...
