    Gas Mileage!

It's a Jeep. Fuel economy isn't the best for them. 12-13 MPG isn't great but you can do a few things to improve the gas mileage. When you went to bigger tires did you change the spedo gear in the transfer case to match your gear ratio and tire size? This will bring your mileage back to pretty...

How did you improve your 2.5l

Bosch Part number 0280150947 Ford part number FiTE-D58 Blue top EV-1 Series III I got mine on Ebay for 27.00 each with 8.00 shipping. Just search for the ford 7.4 injectors. It will work just check the plug and make sure it's an EV-1 type plug not the EV-6 or it will not work. Good Luck!!

How did you improve your 2.5l

Also depending on which year your Jeep is swap out the injectors for the Ford Injectors which are the Bosch 4 hole injectors. This gives better fuel atomization and a better burn with increased power. For a 4 cylinder up to 95 use the 18 pound yellow top injectors. For 96 to 02 use the blue top...

    2.5L performance?

I ordered the injectors tonight but I put an injector cleaner in the gas tank and it ran just fine with no bucking going up a slight hil in 4th gear. That seemed to pinpoint the problem as being the no 4 injector being bad or plugged. I should have the injectors next week and installed shortly...

    2.5L performance?

I finally got my TJ to throw a code today, P0204. It says it is a problem with the number 4 injector. The cure is change the injector, check the wiring for a signal or change the PCM. I was going to change the injectors to the Ford 24 pound injectors anyway so I'll do that first and check the...

    2.5L performance?

I have a bucking problem in 4th gear around 40 MPH on acceleration up a slight incline. It doesn't happen all the time so this diagnostic was a ***** to figure out. The mechanic thinks it's my distributor more than the TPS or the Crank Sensor. So the repairs go on and on and on.

Timbern installation in a 97 Jeep TJ

Like jps4jeep said you are better off with the air bags in the front. An automatic is easier to plow with but I've plowed with a stick and was fine with it. Just have to make sure your clutch is working fine and if it wasn't done in a few yrs think about doing it after but you have to judge that...

    Hard top for the winter....

I love my hard top. Keeps the Jeep quite warm, less noise, but when it gets warm it's off for the soft top and gets stored in the garage. All I need is a lift as taking it off and on by yourself is dangerous.

Timbern installation in a 97 Jeep TJ

Is your lift a budget boost or a regular spring lift? This makes a difference. A BB is just lift bushings on the top of the springs as a spring lift replaced the factory springs. I have a plow setup on my 00 Tundra and put a 3 inch lift on the front end on top of my struts. Doing this made the...

    Runs then dies

If you need wire codes for your 97 I have the shop manual for the 98 uses the same wiring as the 97. It makes life easier for me to trouble shoot wiring problems on my wife's XJ

    2.5L performance?

I'm doing most of the engine upgrades on my 99 TJ. What I have left to do is the Ford 24 pound injectors and the e-fan for the engine mods. For the axle mods to save money I'm doing lockers and upgrading my gears to 4.88's all at once. This will make it easier so the re-install will go much...
