New to Jeepz.com

Hello everyone, my name is Mike and I am new to this Forum.

I have a 1994 2.5l Jeep Wrangler, which is pretty much stock at this point. I have been driving it on and off-road for over a year now and have changed a few parts on it such as:

Flowkooler water pump
engine mounts (old ones were totally gone :|)
shock absorbers (all four)
all tie rod ends, drag link, and stearing stabalizer

and fluids (oil, transmission, transfer case, coolent...haven't done differentials yet...)

My main reason for joining this site is that I could use some advice on some of the procedures for replacing parts. Some of the lessons I have learned while working on my jeep have involved ruining a part and probably could have been avoided if I had just asked.

Jeepz.com seems to have better information and a friendlier user community than most other Jeep forums I have looked at. I am happy to be a member and will be asking some technical questions very soon.

Thanks for having me.

Mike

Re: New to Jeepz.com

Welcome to the forums!

How do you like the 2.5L? Mileage any good? Would you have rather had the 4.0L or bigger?

Sorry for all the questions...but I have driven both the 2.5 (briefly) and the 4.0 alot...more curious about the 2.5L than anything..

Larry

Re: New to Jeepz.com

The 2.5L does pretty well for going slow over obstacles; however, going up Steep Mountain grades at 65 mph...doesn't usually happen. That's ok; I just tell myself when everyone is passing me that Jeeps are intended to be driven slow off the highway.

I haven't driven one with a 4.0L. It would be nice to see the difference it would make. As far as gas mileage, I'm lucky if I get 20 mpg (and that's highway mileage).

Welcome to Jeepz! Just remember when they pass you on the highway, you can run circles around them back-country!
