Arizona Rocky Road Wrangler CB Antenna Mount
12 Attachment(s) Arizona Rocky Road Wrangler CB Antenna Mount

While searching for an antenna mount for my Jeep Wrangler TJ, I came across this on ebay. It's made by Arizona Rocky Road, and sold on Ebay (or at least that's where I purchased it). In my opinion, it's well made and simple - getting the job done nicely without costing too much. One thing that I would suggest - if your new antenna is a rigid type, and sticks up above the roof line, I'd install a spring base like I did. This will keep limbs from breaking off your new antenna.

Huskey Liner floor mats for Jeep Wrangler
4 Attachment(s) Huskey Liner floor mats for Jeep Wrangler

Huskey floor mat for Jeep Wrangler review: When I bought my 2005 Wrangler I noticed that the floor mats were an off color generic style, so I went about getting some new ones. After some quick research, I found that the standard for floor mats in Jeeps were Husky Liners. I contacted Quadratec, and after choking on the price a bit, made my order. The floor mats are made of a semi-flexible plastic, so they do bend and fold, but not easily, and will retain their shape. They seem to wear very well, and can hold alot of water, slush, sand, etc. The appearance is somewhat of a love it or leave it - I think they look great, but my wife thinks they are too spartan. If I were to do it over again, I would not have purchased the rear mats. The rear mats are 1/3 the size of the front mats, but cost the same amount. After 6 months in my Jeep, the rear mats look new, mainly because no one rides in my back seat, so they see no use. Having said that about the rear mats, I'll now say that the front mats are a must have. They take soo much abuse (especially in winter) that I would not go without them. Husky floor mats are expensive, but are a great accessory for your Jeep (well... they front ones anyway). $57 for the front $57 for the rear $69 for the cargo area

Jeep Cargo Carrier
7 Attachment(s) Jeep Cargo Carrier

I had been complaining for some time about the lack of storage in my jeep, so my wife was nice enough to get this cargo carrier as a Christmas present for me. Overall, I like it alot. It holds quite a bit of weight, and is large enough to hold any thing I can throw onto it (holds 500 lbs) One downside is that it is large and heavy, so storage is a problem. Also, since I have a 31" spare tire, the tailgate won't open with this carrier on (this is a problem with my oversize spare, not the carrier). Erin (my better half) purchased it from Quadratec (link here Hidden Hitch Class III Basket Carrier - Quadratec ). The shipping was speedy, but the packaging was very poor (you can see from the photos). Price was $159 plus shipping. Here is the quadratec description:

Mirror Movers
10 Attachment(s) Mirror Movers

I love taking the doors off of my 2005 Wrangler, but in Virginia, you have to have side mirrors to stay legal. Thanks to Quadratec, I was able to move my mirrors from the door, onto the body of the jeep using these: Mirror Movers in Black for 03-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited - Quadratec The are manufactured by Sunperformance (part number TJP004-03). The work well, and are very sturdy, overall I'm happy with them. The only negatives I are that the mirror is now moved farther forward, and the passenger side mirror is difficult to see with the doors on. Also, if you open your door wide, you will bump into, and move the mirror. To fix this, I purchased new, adjustable door limiting straps from Quadratec.com

Rubicon Express budget boost lift kit
2 Attachment(s) Rubicon Express budget boost lift kit

If you are looking to fit larger tires onto your Jeep, or do any type of offroading / 4x4ing, at some point you will need to install a lift kit. There are several types of lifts (more on this in the suspension section). I chose to install the simplest suspension lift, the coil spring spacer. I installed the Rubicon Express 2 inch budget boost (RE7030). This is a coil spacer lift kit that comes with new twin tube shocks, and extended bump stops. I installed the coil spacer kit on my 2005 Jeep Wrangler TJ, taking this chance to replace the shocks with new ones from the kit (read the entire lift kit install here). I'm of average mechanical experience, and own air tools (not required, but helpful) along with standard jacks and had tools. The install took me longer that it would most (ending up at 10 hours). In my opinion this is a very good lift kit. I was worried about the shocks at first, but they feel great, in fact - they are much smoother than the factory shocks that they replaced. The ride of my Wrangler is unchanged (save for the smoother shocks), and the height increase of 2 inches is perfect for the 31 inch tires I run. One negative that I will point out about this kit is the horrible instructions (attached below). They include such helpful statements as: Step 4. Remove rear factory coils Maybe it's because I've never done this before, but what those four words describe took me a long time to fully comprehend and complete. Alot goes into jacking up the vehicle, dropping the axle down low enough to get that spring out. You'd think they'd make someone go sit at the computer for 2 hours to type up some usable directions - heck, forget the words, just give me 30 photos with arrows! Well, hopefully the directions here will help. Bad instructions aside, this is a great kit. My TJ rides better than before the lift, and looks great. I would recommend this lift kit to anyone. Price : $230 (from Muddy Rocks Offroad - great service) Install time : 10 hours Overall Rating : Very good lift kit, could use better instructions

Smittybilt deluxe sport handles
9 Attachment(s) Smittybilt deluxe sport handles

One thing that I really missed in my Jeep Wrangler was some sort of hand hold, or grab bar for my left hand while driving. I did some reasearch and found these Smittybilt deluxe sport handles on ebay for $8.95 plus shipping, which I thought was a great deal. Installation is a snap - they simply velcro around your roll bar (they are big enough to go over the roll bar padding. There is a rigid piece that keeps the bar in the correct position when you pull on it. The grip itself is very comfortable. Overall, I really like this product, and it's a great value for the price.

USASpec's aux input device (Ipod to Jeep adapter)
4 Attachment(s) USASpec's aux input device (Ipod to Jeep adapter)

Ipod input for stock stereo I've been pretty pleased with the factory stereo in my 2005 Wrangler. It's sufficiently loud, plays CDs, and easy to use, it did however lack one thing - an input for my (generic) Ipod. I consider my MP3 player to be pretty important (I'm addicted to books on tape), and briefly thought about replacing the stock stereo. I eventually decided to keep the stock unit, since I'll have the doors off alot I'm afraid that an aftermarket stereo would get stolen (does anyone steal car stereos any more)? So, how to add in my Ipod you ask? The answer is USASpec's aux input device (part number DF-CHR). I found this device through Crutchfield (Crutchfield: Car Audio, Home Theater, Speakers, LCD TV, Plasma TV) - a company that I can't say enough good things about. It plugs into the CD changer controls on the back of your factory head unit, and will convert that into RCA inputs (two sets). This will allow you to input two different external devices. Installation is easy, you simply have to remove the stereo, plug in the aux input device, and plug in your Ipod. I've attached the Crutchfield 2003+ Jeep Wrangler radio install directions for those that need it. This device works great. You have to turn your Ipod volume up, and the volume for your stereo, but I believe that is normal for any line input.

Wet Okole seat covers
7 Attachment(s) Wet Okole seat covers

I purchased a full set of Wet Okole seat covers for my 2005 wrangler (front and back seats). Overall, I'm very impressed with them, they are definately well made, and specific to Jeep seats. They have cutouts for each lever, and work great. The tops attach by sliding over the back of the seat, and velcro at the bottom. The bottoms are attached by straps, with well made plastic clips to hold them in place. These seat covers fit and look great, however they are pretty expensive at $375 for the set.

Wrangler Dome Light Switch
16 Attachment(s) Wrangler Dome Light Switch

For months now I've been trying to find a way to take the doors off my Wrangler and have the dome lights stay off. I tried buying little spring loaded contraptions that would attempt to keep the door pins depressed, but they would pop right off, threatening to put someone's eye out. I also tried pulling the door fuse, which works, but you'll need the fingers of a 6 year old boy to fit in there. Finally I found a solution - Quadratec's TJ Dome Light Switch. This device is so simple that it's brilliant. You replace the door fuse with two leads that go to a switch (mounted under the dash in reach of the driver). There's an inline fuse to protect your circuit, and the construction of the harness is great. You can find this switch by going to Quadratec's website and looking for "dome light switch". The verdict - I love this thing. Probably the best $25 I've spent on my Wrangler so far.
