I mounted mine where the original stereo goes and mounted the SWR meter in the little catch-all in the console (where Frankie's airbag switch is). Thought it would be a good place since my stereo was stolen anyway. Then mounted the $400 ham unit in the Tuffy console for a little more security.

That's the same thing I did with mine. I worked for about 6 months, then it started again, so I just replaced the entire switch and added more grease to it and sprayed it down with silicone spray before putting it in. Hasn't happened again, and that was over 2 years ago. :D

Yep, most of the spacer kits are actually 1 3/4". They say they are 2" if used in conjunction with the factory 1/4" insolators.

I've got the half that attachs to the roll bar with the release mechanism on it (drivers and pass.), but not the other half. they are still on the roll bar I took out of a 78 CJ-7. If you need it just pay the shipping.
