I was going to say the same thing. If the jeep is the same as a ford you have a switch that rotates and makes contact. When the switch gets worn, the prongs that make the contact start wearing down, sometimes they might make contact sometimes they wont. That is the same symptoms a ford will have,

See if the College you go to has a auto body course. If it does see if they will fix it and you pay for parts. I know alot of places do this so the students get hands on supervised experience.

It could be your constant wire on your radio also. It might have gotten pinched by something.
