    Hard Start - Fuel Prob?

I had that problem until just a month ago, I had a small leak in the fuel return line from the filter that allowed air in and all of the fuel to run back down to the tank or on the ground. I replaced all of the hoses in the engin bay and fixed the problem. Also if you are still running a stock...

    Temp Gauge

Mine is on the head, Port (driver's) side, all the way back by the firewall. It is brass 1/2" hex on top with 1 wire on a stainless threaded post. When the temp goes up the resistance on the sensor goes down. To check the gauge have someone sit inside while you ground the sensor wire to the...

    Whitey won't stop whining!!!

If you cant find belt dressing...I keep an old bar of soap in my tool box and apply it liberaly to the belt (carefully) when it's running. It kills the whine for a few days. Also take a peek at your pulleys to make sure they are all straight. I had a annoying whine after a "fun session" and...

Installing an air horn in my YJ?

Hello, is there anyone in here? The doorbell button will work fine. I used one for the second "Hooga" horn on my '83 scrambler. I played with the position using double side sticky tape before I drilled any holes on the dash and routed the wires, just to make sure it was in a comfortable place.

Steering and carb problem on my 1989 Jeep Wrangler YJ.

"It often dies and stalls when I slow down to make turns and when I slow down to make a stop or when I am at stop on a red light. I changed the fuel pump (the old one was leaking), fuel filter and the air filter. Is this a carburator problem or?" Do you have the Carter BBL carb? Does your...

Letting the beast get the better of me.

:D Whooooo Hooooo! I installed the "Team Rush" TFI ignition upgrade on Saturday and the Jeep screamed to life! I wish I knew exactly what was wrong with it before (coil, dist., wires...) so if it happens again I can fix it or help someone else...but at least it's working now. Thank you again...

Letting the beast get the better of me.

Thanks for the help Sully. I'm going to try the TFI upgrade before I switch back to my spare Carter BBL. If it works I'll be interested to figure out what was bad or if it just needed a little "FM". (Freakin Magic!) I'd rather be lucky than good, any day! Mongo

Letting the beast get the better of me.

Letting the beast get the better of me.

Well, I got through the fuel system last night and besides a tempermental fuel sending unit it's providing gas OK. :? Besides the obvious checking for fouled plugs...and spark at the end...what other electrical bugs would just make it quit like that? I'll take any troubleshooting help I can...
