    5-speed swap

I have a t5 behind a 360 v8. It's held up fine to a lot of abuse, both on and off road. After the opinions I've read about it, I was expecting it to have blown apart by now. -X

    Computer gurus help me

I've gotten good results / speed from www.ace-host.net (note the ".net" ace-host.com is a forward to fasthost who have poor support from my understanding) The signup is very user freindly. More importantly for you, they offer a variety of "plug-ins" that you can install on your site directly...

What to do with my top??

The storage racks they sell store them standing up. The footprint isn't that bad. I would think you could get it in a corner, cover it with a sheet, and call it your apartment ghost... maybe sell tours, too. -X

    Arrington,Va / Blue Ridge Estate

Anyone from this area? I'm signed up for Camp Jeep and am looking for a hotel close. The closest I've got is 30 miles away. Thanks! -X

    iam new here

Funny, I didn't notice the different bumpers, but saw the rear fog light right away. That's cool that they retro-fit them in to exported vehicles, but I'm glad the numb-skulls here in the states don't have it as an option. Too many German car owners think its appropriate to drive all the...

    Clean dat baby out!

My brother (a mechanic) told me about this years ago. I did it on my first truck. A Toyota Pickup. What I was told (and did) was: Drain the oil and leave the filter on Dump a quart of ATF in the engine Run the engine for 5 minutes Drain the very nasty ATF out of the engine Swap the filter...

    Flush Mounttail lights.

Just my 2 bits. I don't particularly like flush-mounts, but to each their own. LV's comment about upgrading your flasher only applies to LED lights. If you get trailer lights for your tails that are regular bulbs, you won't need to worry about the flashing rate. In my opinion, if you're...

RE: Paragon Adventure Park lease in jeopardy

Re: Paragon Adventure Park lease in jeopardy I've never been to Rausch Creek, but plan on it this summer. The people I've talked to say I've been spoiled with Paragon compared to Rausch Creek. Speaking of talking to people on the trail, I haven't seen the Unimited out there, yet. =D -X

    Chrome Rims

Get some really fine steel wool. I have a pack of 0000 grade. I use it on my grill and mirrors every time I wash it. Once you get the surface stuff off with the wool hit it with Chrome polish or a nice wax. I find that cheaper chrome starts to rust in between cleanings as the wax wears off...

RE: Paragon Adventure Park lease in jeopardy

Re: Paragon Adventure Park lease in jeopardy I wonder how closing the park would affect those two gas stations right off the exit. It'd truly be a shame to see Paragon go. Wheelin' with my daughter every other month would turn into once a year... maybe. -X

    Trail Hawk

I really like the direction of this thing. According to the article the flairing will be bent sheet metal, not plastic as would be assumed. http://www.autospies.com/news/DETROIT-AUTO-SHOW-Jeep-Trail-Hawk-Concept-11461/

    2" receiver fit.

OK, I put a 2" receiver on the rear of my CJ just to be able to have a rear tow point (D-Ring). For Xmas, I got a very nice bike rack that mounts in the receiver. However, the bike rack is very loose in the receiver and bounces around a lot on the road. Has anyone run into something like...

    Pass side airbag

Hey TC, My '98 TJ had a key switch from the factory near the gear shift that disabled the airbag. I don't know any write-ups, but I would think you could get all the parts out of a yard. -X

Imput on cat back systems, please

I don't know about Flowmaster, but I second the idea of buying a muffler and gettting a shop to bend the rest. I've never used a catback "system" on any of my vehicles and in each case I've saved tons by buying peices and having an exhaust shop custom the rest. Another thing to think about is...

    CB / Two Way Radios

Can anyone enlighten me a bit on these things? I'm looking to monitor trail chatter. My gf picked up Motorola Talkabout T5000R's. They's FRS/GMRS. Will they work to hear public CB channels? Do people typically use CB channels anymore? I've read a bunch of stuff online, and it all says...

    360 Vaccuum lines

I have a 360 from a 77 Wagoneer. Just to the passenger side of the oil filler tube on the block is a nut with two vaccuum lines coming out of it (opposite the temp guage probe). Does that fitting go into a water jacket? I've got an aftermarket temp guage I'd like to use to troubleshoot some...

    High pitched noises

Ditto. That sounds like the thow-out bearing. Ironically, the last time I went wheelin' I did the same thing. I haven't had a chance to really check it out / fix it, yet. -X
