    Need help PLEASE!!

2.5" might be a little tight if you intend to wheel it. I have a YJ and with a 4" lift, at max flex, the rear tires still rub on the tub with 33's. But I seem to remember hearing that TJ's have more room for bigger tires, so it may work after all...

    Jeep Wrangler hood bounces

A little bit of advice... CHANGE THE HOOD LATCHES. Otherwise, when you hit a bump at speed, your hood may blow open while driving. DO NOT ASK ME WHY I KNOW THIS!

How did you improve your 2.5l

REalistically speaking, you can improve the power, but nothing is going to be a DREASTIC improvement (well, not counting superchargers or turbos!). The good thing is that the little 4 banger is a relatively light engine, will run forever if taken care of, and will cause minimal breakage to your...

    YJ top questions

You CAN store the mesh top under the hard top, BUT, you have to remove the windshield channel to install the hard top, so it is not THAT simple (although it WOULD fix your storage issues).

    foglight wiring

I just bought an aftermarket one for boats and placed it under the hood of my YJ... Same principle, though, and I second Turbogus' advice.

    Headlight issues

I have had the connector to the lights (the H4 plug) melt and cause bad connections on more than one occasion, i would start by checking those. If it looks deformed in any way, that's your cause, and if it is, eBay sells ceramic replacements that have worked fine for me...

I drove mine to work today... Does that count?

    TJ glasspack

I have probably done more than you are willing to do... In my case, I even removed the cat (LOUD!), and right now, I am running a Borla cat back. It sounds OK, but it is still too loud for my taste.

    Engine swap

Youe most defenetly will have to replace the motor mounts (along with your transmission, , rear axle, wiring, ECU, etc.). No motor swap is a plug and play affair...

    Tire question

If he has the I6, I doubt the Jeep was regeared, so 31's will actually bring some power back. If he has the I4, and they regeared to 4.88, he'll be fine with 31's. I used to run this combo before I got my 33's on, and I actually had better MPG with 31's and 4.88 than with 31's and 4.10...

What did you do to your Jeep today?

Checked for leaks in my ARB lines (and fixed a couple), put in a new water temp sensor, removed the gauge cluster and cleaned the contacts.

    Tire question

Those are REALLY good tires. And as far as MT go, they are not THAT noisy... (try Super Swampers, and you'll know what I mean! It's like being in a WWII bomber when driving a highway speeds). Look, at the end of the day, everybody's Jeep has to fulfill a different role, as no one's needs are...

Upgrade Dana 30 or Wait till breaks and get Dana 44

Going back to the OP, I have an upgraded D30 (chromoly axles with higher spline count), and I have run 33's and ARB lockers for about 4 years without issues. I dont exaclty pamper the Jeep, but I also try not to solve my problems by using the skinny pedeal. I wheel more in mud, thgouh, and...

    4bt or 6bt swap

I woul dhave to find out, and it would depend in the country. Here, you would normally look for a totaled HiLux, Fortuner or Prado, and buy it. Should be about $3K, assuming there were some to be had. But again, I would not recommend getting this engine for the states (you ARE in the US...

    4bt or 6bt swap

There are still some significant differences... but lets start with Torque. First off, the Toyota Sport model (bigger turbo) has a max torque rating of 412 Nm (that's 304 ft/lb), so you CAN swoop up the engine to produce more torque (there is even a twin turbo version making 645 Nm called the...

    4bt or 6bt swap

The engine is the 1KD-FTV. It is a 3.0L straight-4 D-4D common rail (ultra high pressures of up to 135 mpa (1350 bar or about 19,580 psi) diesel engine with a variable geometry turbocharger and Intercooler. It has 16 valves and a DOHC (double overhead camshaft) design rated at 170 hp at 3400...

    4bt or 6bt swap

I am not a big fan of the Cummings engines. They are big and heavy. I think there are MUCH better options in other brands. Unfortunately for you guys, Diesels are not common in the US, but in the rest of the world, they are as common as gas engines (even more so for 4X4 trucks). If I were...
