    Better in herds

I prefer traveling in packs to herds. The whole predator/prey imagery works out better for us that way.

    For Christmas 'I WANT' ...

You'll shoot your eye out! Love that movie. Almost bought it on Blu-ray today, but it wouldn't be the same. I love watching it on Christmas Day when it gets run for 24 hours straight.

    Return of the Cherokee

I live and work near Chrylser headquarters outside Detroit. Been seeing a few of these Alfas running around lately. Not bad looking little cars. Sizewise, they're closer to the Compass from what I've seen. The flipside of this Chrysler-Fiat deal is that purportedly, Maserati (also owned by...

Rumbledy-bump and the Apple-cart are her nicknames. My son calls it the Jeepy. Oh and it's also his. He's 3.

what did you do for thanksgiving, after all?

I had some patients in the hospital, so I worked about 4 hours, then ate, then slept, then ate, then watched college football. Still drove my Jeep in to work though instead of the Dodge.

    I want my doors off

I drive mine around Detroit with no hard top and no doors. No one has messed with it. I take my stuff with me, usually in a backpack.

    Identify this car

Nothing new to report. My friend can't get a complete ID without more pics or different angles. There's just not enough detail. He still thinks it's 1911 to 1915 in terms of age. He offered a website that has a ton of photos - earlyamericanautomobiles.com as another resource.

    Identify this car

My contact through the Model T Automotive Heritage Complex and Ford Piquette Plant (http://tplex.org/) got back to me today. He is 1000% sure it is not a Model T, although I think other responses indicated that we were pretty sure of that. His response goes on to say that the car does have a...

    Identify this car

I believe that's an acetylene tank for the headlights which were more like old miners helmets with torches attached. If thats the case, i think it would put the car around the mid 1910's. I recently visited the Ford Piquette factory museum in Detroit, circa 1910. They have a lot of examples of...

    What is your daily car?

Nice Dakota. I had a 97, the first year of that body style, for 12 years. I miss that truck. Part of the reason I got a Jeep.

    What is your daily car?

My daily is my 07 Charger. Wife has an 07 Explorer. I plan on driving the 01 TJ in the winter since we're in southeast Michigan and the Charger is not too good in heavy snow.

    mileage

I get about 17 with cruise control on the highway at 65 mph. Closer to 13-14 city driving. Pretty close to what the original window sticker on my 01 TJ states it should.

    jerky turning

That's most likely normal in 4wd. When you turn, and the front wheels are not engaged in 4wd, the wheel to the inside of the turning radius is turning more rapidly, and the wheel to the outside is turning more slowly (larger turning radius than the inner). When 4wd is engaged, the front wheels...

I've got to put mine back on soon, too. Not looking forward to it.

    People in Nebraska are jerks

Doesn't seem to happen a lot in southeast Michigan. Of course, this is big 3 country, so as long as you drive domestic you're pretty safe. I have heard stories from friends with foreign cars getting keyed, having their cars spit on, getting nasty notes stuck under their wipers, etc.
