How much articulation is too much?

Wow. You know, you're right. There really is just something ingrained in a man. My boy's not even two yet and got all sorts of junk for christmas, his favorites though, two toy monster trucks. He's already hooked on lifted rigs! Good post bro. They should start another forum: "Jeep Poetry."...

How much articulation is too much?

Yup, I got brake lines, Pitman arm, all that shtuff. But I still don't really have an answer to the original question... Surely someone out there has found out the hard way just how crazy you can get before things start letting go.

    Can't find a Speedy Sleeve!

I have a slow leak at the output shaft on my np231. I was going to just replace the seal, but I've heard that with almost 200k miles, I should also install a speedy sleeve b/c of the wear on my drive shaft. Problem is, the knuckle-heads at auto zone have no clue what I'm talking about, and I...

How much articulation is too much?

I don't think I get what you mean because, wouldn't putting spacers under your axle defeat the purpose of the lift? Or is it more like a shim that changes the angle of your diff pointing at the t-case?

How much articulation is too much?

Well, the YJ is at the shop as I type, getting a 4" Pro Comp lift and 33"x12.5"xR15 Toyo Open Country all terrains! I feel like a little kid waiting on Christmas. I dropped just about all I had doing this, so I have to settle with a T-case drop instead of a SYE, (for now). The question is...

Where did you put your CB Antenna?

Where you've mounted your antenna is probably the best spot. I'm an Electronics Technitian in the Navy specializing in communications. Everything from SatComs to hand held Motorola "walkie-talkies." Antenna location isn't really an issue for Citizen band (cb) when it comes to transmitting...

What size tires can I put on my '95 Wrangler

Hey Bro, (just read back over this, sorry so long winded, but I hope it helps). So I have beat the "what lift should I use" dead horse into a puddle of glue over the last couple weeks on this forum and here's what I found out: (I have a 93 YJ so everything should be the same). You can...

    Poor man's overhaul?

I looked under and around it a few months ago and it didn't have even a sign of rust. It's been in the Central Valley of California since new. My wife's uncle is the first and only owner and has taken extra good care of it. He swears up and down it's only been "off road" 2 or 3 times. He...

    I6 to 360 V8

I have absolutley no usefull input on this matter, but I do have a request. If you do the swap PLEASE make sure to take lots of pictures, or better yet video, of the steps it took. I'm sure there are plenty of us that would greatly apreciate it!

    Poor man's overhaul?

I was wondering what all I should do to this 93 YJ I just got as far tune-ups go. So far I'm thinking: 1) New belts/hoses 2) Flush and replace fluids in transmission, radiator, motor, diffs, T-case 3) New plugs, wires, distributor cap 4) Air filter, fuel filter, oil filter (obviously) 5) Hit...

    It's a 93, STUPID!!!

Didn't figure there was a whole lot different. I was just having the hardest time understanding why the Blue book value I was getting was a thousand dollars less than what he was claiming...because it's two years newer than I thought! Still, 3,500 bucks for a gently used '93 aint to shabby.

    Welding diffs

They may say they can only handle 33's but I don't buy it. I'm talking about a BUILT 427 in a 3500 pound car with traction bars! I have personaly been in the thing doing 30 Mph, reved it to 5 grand, shifted down to second and dumped the clutch. That big 'ol girl lauched like a Semi truck...

    Welding diffs

My dad put a powertrax locker in his 69 Chevelle. It was under 200 bucks if I remmeber right. It came with two different spring strengths Street and strip. the strip springs made his rearend hop and tires chirp when he would turn at intersections from a stop. If he had some forward momentum...

What's up with the Super Swamper LTB's?

Wow! I had always thought the Goodyear MT/r was built for rocks. They sure push them like they are, that's for sure. Hmm. Learn something every day.

    It's a 93, STUPID!!!

So, I'm going to pick up my brand spanking new (to me) 1991 YJ I have purchased from my wife's uncle. I've been asking all of you guys all these awesome questions and researching everything from lockers, to V8 swaps, to seat covers for 91 YJs... there's only one ploblem... I just found out it's...

What's up with the Super Swamper LTB's?

Ya, I even live a half hour East of San Diego in the desert where we get even less rain. The reason I would get a mud tire however is because generaly, they have a way stronger sidewall than an AT. I can't tell you how many stories I've heard of the sidewall being torn out of BFG All Terains...
