if it were the thermostat, how hard/expensive is that to replace? would i be able to do it with my limited mechanical knowledge and a hayes manual? or better to take it to a professional?[addsig]

actually when the vent is set on recirrculate the air is slightly warmer, when its on fresh its icy cold...i'm going to check out the thermostat and check for fluid in the hoses after i get back from the game on monday, if i had the car hooked up to a computer would there be an engine...

the only reason the GL5 is bad is becuase it contains sulfer, which is corosive the the brass synchronizers in the newer jeep transmissions, i dont know whether or not the older transmission's is but if you're worried Redline MT90 is a synthetic GL4, and from what i hear is the best for...

vav's, if you're worried about the fine then you wouldnt get in trouble if you just happened to stab a crow bar into it a few times and get it nice and hollow...haha...just an idea, that way if they decide to look underneath the car you've still got a cat...actually had a punk ass cop...

thanks for the help everyone...got to see a great game and came back only to find out that the car was working normally again, perhaps the thermostat got stuck in the open position and then un-stuck itself...the needle would move up slightly when it wasnt working, but still not into...

A ford swap shouldnt be any more difficult then my chevy swap, just be prepared for a big price tag, and a new set of axles if you've got a little to much lead in your foot.[addsig]

my jeep performs great in the snow, i dont have lockers or anything yet so the only thing i can accredit it to would be tires, get yourself a nice set of aggressive all terrain tires and a set of wider rims, pep boys has american racing waggon style rims for like $35 per rim that should...

yeah, i agree with bounty, if you want the 4.0 and dont have a whole lot of custom mods on your jeep i recomend that you just sell it and buy one with a factory 4.0, it will be better installed and just all around a better way to do it, however if you want to keep you're particualr...

well i say if you're thinking of going higher then 2.5 or 3" go SOA, you'll keep your stock springs, and stock ride, have 4.5-5" of lift, and be able to run 33's more then comfortable and even fit 35's in neccesary....i wouldnt waste your money on 4" springs, they ride worse and the SOA...

sold my old clutch, and mastercylinder with the transmission, i feel bad because he's accusing me of ripping him off, but it never honestly had any of the problems he's describing when it was in my jeep so i dont know what else to tell him, the transmission had been switched from the...

body lift = bad, my friend had a 3 in body lift along with SOA suspension, just got into a fender bender, got him from behind, only about 7 mph, but it slid the whole body forward and did almost $8,000 worth of damage!! :-O [addsig]

I put a 4" suspension with 1.5" lowering kit on the transmission, i had to cut some sheet metal to allow the shifter to move easily into 2nd and 4th, no problem with R or 4WL

$1.59 here on the Eastern Shore of MD, only going to get worse when we goto war, my economics prof thinks we'll probably see prices upward of $2.00 across the country :-O The good news is that once we get that madman out of power over in iraq we'll have access to their oil again, and...

its a flex fan, so i dont think there is any "clutch", its bolted to a spacer which is bolted directly to my pully so the problem isnt with the fan spinning
