Is the aw4 worth moding to hold the torque of a 4.6 stroker. I would like to keep it auto, but an AX15 might be better for long run. The torque converter lock-up is soft and unlocks on near lvl ground driving. Here in So cali flat land is rare. Tired of churning my slush box. PLZ post ideas...

Ive got an 88 cherokee, runs fine in park or neutral. Won't run in gear with any pedal input. 4.0 auto. At one point it wouldnt run at all, but after pump icm and map sensor, it has a loping idle but idles well.

Im trying to figure out what year the cherokee auto trans went to a lock up torque converter. I would also like to know if there was a good year or make to swap out without having to change the ecm.

I have an 88 cherokee limited with a soft brake pedal. The first half goes down with little effort, leaving the bottom half to do the stopping. I have changed the master cylinder (bench Bled), replaced the old brake hoses, and bled the system again. I hear others complaining of soft brakes...
