    Idler pulley 2005 TJ

I'm replacing the upper and lower pulleys but of course the bearing inside doesn't come with the item through a parts store and dealer doesn't have them in stock. In fact there's only one pulley in Texas per them. My question is, since the bearing is used to keep the pulley from wobbling and...

Squeeling noise coming from engine - 2005 Jeep Wrangler

Good morning fellow Jeepsters. My 2005 Jeep Wrangler is producing a squealing sound. I replaced the serpentine belt and the tension adjuster. This fixed the problem for a couple of days, but now the noise has returned with a vengeance. Has anyone else experienced something similar who could...

    First oil change

I'm not sure why at 39, I am just doing my first oil change on Bobby James Ewing. (My 2005 Jeep Wrangler) I've fixed a blown head gasket on an 1987 Jeep Cherokee with an inline six that to this day is in the top three moments of my life, but never an oil change. Why have I wasted so much time...

205 Jeep Wrangler does not want to engage/move

Bounty, It does look like it has dropped. I have attached pictures. Also, doesn't that look like quite a bit if separation between the top of the transmission to the floor board? Is it just the one bracket? the one that sits on the skid plate? It's almost as though everything is going at a...

205 Jeep Wrangler does not want to engage/move

Thanks Mr. Mason. Here's a picture. I'm second owner. I've had it 2.5 years. I've not ever had an issue, change the oil and maintain it and I've always been good to my cars. This just happened this past Wednesday. I'm not yet a lets go off roading guy. My recent move to Denver will change...

205 Jeep Wrangler does not want to engage/move

Re: 2005 Jeep Wrangler does not want to engage/move Perfecto! I did see that screw, and thought that'd help, but to no avail. Would a lack of fluid in the transfer case also be a cause? I plan to do this inexpensive fix and change the fluid and see what happens. Here is the link you...

205 Jeep Wrangler does not want to engage/move

Mr. Mason, your pictures are spot on. My boot is out of whack and so is the spring. There's no tension or anything. The tires def. added some height to Bobby. Your second post picture didn't load for some reason. I just sent you an email, if you could reply to that, I'd much appreciate it.

205 Jeep Wrangler does not want to engage/move

I just love being challenged...I refuse to take my Jeep to a mechanic. SO, I am now at the Jeep Transfer Case Shifter Linkage TSB. Since it's obviously jacked as the pictures above show, Could tis possibly be why I can't get it back into 2h? I'd much rather have a $20 dollar fix...

205 Jeep Wrangler does not want to engage/move

So upon further review, I've noticed the posted has come out of whack. I'm I stupid to think I can fix?

205 Jeep Wrangler does not want to engage/move

Is it possible for me to roll it slightly and pop it into place? If so, jeep on or off?

205 Jeep Wrangler does not want to engage/move

No, no body lift. My T/A ko tires are 31 on a stock rim. It really feels like it doesn't want to go into 2 high. I put it in second or reverse and it wants to move. I feel it move slightly. .

205 Jeep Wrangler does not want to engage/move

It's a 2005, not 205. Hi guys, I started another post wondering clutch or transmission. I was totally convinced that it was my master/slave clutch, but now I'm not so sure. I checked the master reservoir and it had a normal fluid level. Looking under, I noticed the normal TJ 4.0 fluid. minor...

2005 Jeep Wrangler - Transmission or clutch?

I am just going toi swap out the master/slave. Is the tube between the master and the slave reusable? apparently you can't get one in Denver. I really just don't know where else to start.

2005 Jeep Wrangler - Transmission or clutch?

OK, after reading some posts, I now wonder if it's something with the transfer case. I did drive in 4WD recently when it was icy. I thought I tried the shifter. This all still seems like an easy, inexpensive fix I can and will do in my driveway. I would really appreciate any light you could shed...

2005 Jeep Wrangler - Transmission or clutch?

Not sure where to start. I was driving down the highway in moderate traffic. I went to change gears, and nothing. (I was able to roll to the side of the road and call AT&T roadside.) I had Bobby towed to my house thinking whatever it is, I can fix for WAY less. What I noticed: when I push down...

    Tire question

What is the biggest and best tire anyone can suggest for my stock rims on a 2005 Wrangler? Would a set of rims and Goodyear Wrangler tires off a 2004 Jeep Rubicon work? I'm not sure of my bolt pattern. Thanks.
