Sorry I am incorrect about the input shaft lengths about the tj but the first info I gave was not wrong

And I noticed something eles wrong about the info it states that post 90 had a 23 input spline on the aw4 (Wrong) but then it also says that 91 was the first year for the 23 spline in the aw4 (right) I would check your info just to let u know my info is from jeep service manuals

Ok so looking over your info what the hell was wrong about my info I put in I said 91-95 jeep xj or yj will fit the only time they change is a grand Cherokee (zj) or older then 91 !!!

They only started to change the input shaft lengths on the tj the standard ones where longer the the autos

Woops in less its a 4 banger with a ax5 the u need a different input shaft

Any 231 from a jeep wether its a yj xj xj from 91-95 will fit I do this alot I swap ppl 242 for 231 its easy bolts right in just need to adjust the linkage

Crazy question did u check your battery terminals I also have seen starters right out of the box no good before try jumping the ing terminal or testing for 12v while cranking at the starter silenoid

Thanks for the confirmation on the computer and the problem is most body shops don't like rust because what looks to be a small job turns out to be a big job I would get it fixed for sure but I bet it would be more like 500 to do but I recommend to cut out the rust and weld new metal in don't...

You know what I did a standard to auto swap on a jeep Comanche once and the dam thing wouldn't shift unless I hit 3500-4000 rpm turns out that even the tsp looked the same they were different I put the one in from the jeep that I got the auto from and then it worked grate. Grate to hear buddy...
