OK, the Jax and Fayettenam ideas were solid. There were several on Craigs List. Better yet, I am heading down to the beach this weekend anyway, so it isn't much of a side trip. Now, allow me to show my ignorance. Is there any difference in this housing between the C-clip and non C-clip Dana...

Oh, I know. I have a pro doing the work, and he called me to tell me about the $750.00 offer. I said "You tell him to..." and my guy cut me off...'I already did, don't worry." It's not even a "part" really...it's the empty shell that the parts go inside! I like your Fayettenam and Jax ideas...

It's an 89 YJ. I have no reason to believe that the Dana 35 is not the original...but it was a total loss rebuild, so anything is possible. In any case, I grenaded the rear end. Not having the financial ability to swap out the axle for anything that needed mods, I bought rebuild kits for both...

Ok, thanks. I will do that when I get it back. Historically, though, every time I have gone looking for a stamp or a tag, it has been missing. Are there any distinguishing features I can look for, to identify it if there are no tags?
