What year would u say this cj-5 is?

72-75 like David said. It's a long nose, look at the front fenders. It sucks that the Dana 44 rear axle is gone though.

    Made into the newspaper today

Once again, Jeepz provides my favorite form of political entertainment... Republicans and Democrats coming together to ***** and moan about their rights being taken away. lol I support and love my right to arm myself, and I would be willing to fight for it right along side you guys. But just...

    Wheeling on sand

I live at the beach, it's where I have done most of my "offroading". It's depends on what the weather is like, and how moist and compacted the sand is, but after you get used to it... it's easy running either way. Before the police started constantly patrolling the north end at Carolina Beach...

any 2.5l out there w over bore and head shaved?

Either way, I'm sure it runs pretty good with the changes he has made, I just think he is a little off on his compression numbers.

    Doobage? Exact change please...

It should be legalized for adult use in my opinion, so I don't see anything wrong with placing it in a vending machine, not one that requires a record of your finger prints and an ID card to access. I wonder how long it will take our nosey power hungry federal government to kick the doors down...

any 2.5l out there w over bore and head shaved?

Interesting. He is running more compression than I would have thought you could get away with. Mine would experience pre-ignition with regular fuel, and he's running at least a half point higher than I was. I'd like to see his cam card.

any 2.5l out there w over bore and head shaved?

I was really looking for info regarding internal engine mods. Are all of the guys over there just trying to put some snap in their trail Jeeps, or are there people over there actually trying to wring big power out of them? I've never seen a full-tilt AMC 2.5L, and I was hoping there might be one...

any 2.5l out there w over bore and head shaved?

Hey Bounty, do you know any of the user names for the guys over at that 4 banger forum that have built serious engines? Any dyno info? I'd like to read the write-ups. I've checked it out a couple of times when you've posted it before, but there are just too many threads about mufflers and TB...

    Engine Suggestions

The 350 that came in my 84 Vette only had like 190hp. The stock 350 in late 70s Camaros and such only had like 165hp, and there are tons of other emissions era V8s that were just as pitiful. Torque breaks parts, not HP, but non of those engines were exactly torque monsters either. This is why...

any 2.5l out there w over bore and head shaved?

The head on mine was shaved a little just to clean it up after some other work was done to it. You have to be careful with these engines as they already have a little over 9:1 compression ratio in stock form, and you will get into trouble with pre-ignition on low octane pump fuel if you cut too...

    Jeep Renegade Concept

They should have dropped the Renegade name after 1975. This is like Chevrolet putting Nova emblems on the little Isuzu Mark I econo-car back in the 80s. In 1972 if you went in to the dealership and ordered an optioned out Renegade II package you got things like a new for that year V8 engine...

yj half doors? how much used?

It's worth taking a stroll through a couple of the local junkyards, just to see. Sometimes you can get great deals on stuff like that at the yard. Check the local offroad shops too, and the local printed classifieds. Someone in my area was recently advertising a non-running 80s YJ for parts, or...

Help me decide on my next Jeep

For a guy who likes the later AMC built V8 CJs, an early model 87-90 six cylinder powered YJ is a nice alternative. The same AMC V8s that you run in those CJs will go in easily, and you can always throw a CJ front clip on it if you have to have the CJ look. With the YJ you get a better frame...

The unicorn got a nose job

Looks good. I like it better like that. Don't feel bad about letting someone else lay beads for you. I had one of the shop welders(that works under me) do the final welding on my last axle conversion, after I had everything tacked in place. I don't weld all the time like I used to, so why risk...

    Does it really matter?

The machine is too strong at this point to make any real changes through election because the general public has their heads too far up their butts to see the light of day. Each of the two parties uses their old tag lines to scare up the votes, and then they forget about us after they get those...

    Jeep gets wood

This was posted on an online game forum that I go to. Over there they linked to the guys thread about it on his Jeep forum, but I can't find it now. He has bruises all over his mid section and I think he said his testicles were swollen to twice the normal size... That would suck. One...

Hummer is going after the swb Jeep market

I hear ya Harry. Our 2002 WJ was a turd. We got rid of it with about 75K showing on the clock. The transmission had died twice and the Tcase went out once, along with tons of other little small stuff, like two drivers door power window motors in that short time. It was very comfortable and...

    New military jeep

That thing would replace the Hummer at MANY of it's duties though. They would still need the Hummer, mostly the troop and supply carriers, but this would be better for pretty much everything else. It will be more agile, surely it's faster, more economical to buy, more economical to operate...

Hummer is going after the swb Jeep market

I'm a Chevy fan, but I have always been glad that Chevrolet didn't buy Jeep from AMC because they would have discontinued the AMC inline 6 and put IFS under everything... BUT, now that Chrysler has dropped the I6 and they are going to IFS under everything eventually... I now wish Chevy had...

    Old guy needs some help.

I'd suggest a girly little creampuff like I drive every day. 99 TJ, automatic with air conditioning. With the limited slip rear it's capable enough for a relatively stock vehicle, and it's comfortable(for a Jeep).
