1994 YJ Water Pump Mounting Bolts

if nothing else... you can check with the parts dept. at your dealership - they can pull up an exploded view w/parts list and give you the specs on all the hardware... done that b/4 - just a thought - and yea.. that sucks especially when they break that easy.....

    YJ or TJ?

"KISS" = "Keep It Simple Stupid" - and no one can debate that the YJ has that hands down... less creature comforts but if youre looking for somethin rugged that you can work on yourself there really isnt much debate there... to get back on track... i thought this was a TJ -vs- YJ thread - not a...

    Leafs seized?

i agree w/bounty... either seized or over-torqued - loosen them up and see if it helps - if so... tighten them to get rid of any play and use a jamb nut to keep it that way... let us know....

    Dual Shocks on a YJ??

welcome to jeepz! - like said above... dual shocks are (functionally) for high speed off roading for the reason stated.. if you just want looks (which is fine... 32 flavors and all that...) then i'm sure it can be done - check with different mfg's and see if they offer some kind of "universal"...

    YJ or TJ?

i'd go YJ ... (my own bias...) the TJ's are nicer suspension-wise but i like the relative "simplicity" of the YJ = no air bags, no antilock brakes, no "car-like" dash... less things to go wrong or get in the way of mods in my opinion... ultimately they're both jeeps... plus the YJ is late in the...

    U-Joints

i know what i'm getting next! i always used the old hammer and socket to change em (resulting in a lot of bearing reseating!) - that looks like the best of both worlds... good tip Bounty!

Serpentine belt will not stay on pulleys?

looks like a problem i had w/my old 91 - check the harmonic balancer pulley (crank) - looks like its seperating (its a 2 pc. unit w/dampening material b/w the pulley and hub...)if its sticking out too far its probably the culprit.... - mine was just enuff to jump 1 groove and start shredding the...

    12 volt problems

everything should be at 12v... or close to it... its current that cooks things ... think of voltage being the pressure in a hose and current being the volume of liquid going thru it... a short allows the current to spike due to little or no resistance thus causing fuses to blow... dont check for...

    YJ windshield

first off... welcome to jeepz... you'll really find there are no stupid questions here... thats why i stay around... no flaming or bickering... as for your question... i know the cj7 and yj share a lot of components so i think it will work out ok.. but i'm sure there are others here that know...

4" lift on yj, crazy vibrations now...

and isnt the slip yoke typ. a weak link anyway? i broke mine in my old 91 w/4" lift - stands to reason that the sye and slip shaft would be inherently stronger - and the stresses are in a straight line not an angle like at the slip yoke....

4" lift on yj, crazy vibrations now...

wow... at least you have a good resource to find out now instead of later when you drop a driveshaft and get to limp home on the front drive (did that when i broke a slip yoke in my first jeep...) and its a pain but you know what to do now! - i would DEFINITELY check those u-joints now...

4" lift on yj, crazy vibrations now...

fat end goes fwd - to raise (rotate up) the pinion- look at the pic above of the driveshaft on top - you want the angles to be equal at both of the u-joints - you may want to replace them as well - while youre working on it... worn ujoints may also cause vibrations to show up that you didnt feel...

4" lift on yj, crazy vibrations now...

i had the same prob w/my first 4" lift(procomp - btw - NEVER BUY IT!!!! newbie mistake b/4 jeepz!) on my old 91 ... i adjusted the shims and it went away... as for the shock/axle thing... had the same prob also - i just took a hammer and "adjusted" the clearance - not enuff to affect the shock...

    00 TJ Radiator

yea.. install is a no brainer - just take out what you need to get it to clear - and remember the order for reassembly - it should just lift straight up once you get it clear - there are only usually 4 bolts holding it to the rad support - of course i'm used to old rides - yours may have more to...

    00 TJ Radiator

you really dont want to go too cheap w/your radiator - it's pretty crucial - i wouldnt go dealer but make sure you get quality...its not something you'll have to change out often and you dont want to get stranded to save a couple $$... and i second the e-bay thing if you cant find a good one...

    cj and yj???

and there are differences in the cj's -all the cj's have round rear wheel wells, the cj5 (and below...) has rounded doors and is a bit smaller (track and wheelbase...) while the cj7 has squared off doors (like the yj wrangler...) and shares some body components (like the doors and top are...
