06 Commander center seat fold down.

Following up on this post I did fix it. The strap indeed had been torn off the rivet off a mechanical arm just a few inches back from where strap was supposed to be. I drilled out the rivet and fashioned a split ring with some paracord as a replacement and back in business. Hope this helps...

1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Starts runs for second shuts off HELP PLEASE

I believe this is the security system doing its job. It's been a good minute since I had a zj but there is a wire in the driver's door key switch that grounds when working properly shutting off security system when key is used to unlock door. This wire has been known to come off or be damaged...

06 Commander center seat fold down.

That was my first thought at the time. And I gently pulled plastic back and could not see anything. There is another member post here regarding the mechanism getting tight and they were afraid of breaking this strap. I am guessing this could be what happened. Anybody know where this strap...

    06 commander front differential bushings

Been away for here for nearly 8 years after trading off TJ. Good to see some familiar names still posting. Just picked up a used commander with a unknown lift ( approximately 3 inchs) with the hard jump and thump of front differential as bushings are completely destroyed. Do the lifts for...

    Gun ban coming

We didn't ban the box knives used to take over the hijacked planes or the planes used a weapons by the terrorist on 9/11. We just made it difficult for terrorist to use those "tools" again. So lets make it difficult for criminals and the mentally ill use firearms. The terrorists on 9/11...

2005 TJ O2 sensor and exhaust question

Just wanted to update this thread with some new info. I bought a FSM online for the 05 TJ and my suspicions were correct the computer on this year controls the voltage to the O2 sensor heaters. I checked the pin outs on computer and I am getting less than a volt to the heater circuits. My best...

2005 TJ O2 sensor and exhaust question

I don't think that will work for me. The part numbers for o2 sensors are different from 2004 to 2005. I read online that somebody had a similar problem on a 05 and ended up being ECC. I am starting to think maybe computer controls heater circuits on 2005 and 2006 as they are the same part number...

2005 TJ O2 sensor and exhaust question

Ok checked all fuses everything was good. Examined all four o2 sensors and either the car lot I bought the jeep from or PO detailed the sensors or replaced them. They are exceptionally clean. I bought a Haynes manual to check into the 02 sensor heater circuit. The electrical diagram in the book...

2005 TJ O2 sensor and exhaust question

I just took a better look at the underneath. It looks like stock exhaust all the way back to muffler. All four o2 sensors are in place I did not see a damage to the wires or harnesses. Is there a fuse or a relay that controls the heater circuit to them?

2005 TJ O2 sensor and exhaust question

I actually did not know that had changed to the odometer. I was figuring since CEL was out the code reader was the way I would have to check. So here are the codes Po 135, 141, 155, 161

2005 TJ O2 sensor and exhaust question

Sorry I don't remember exact codes. But I believe they were o2 sensor heater circuit malfunction. On the chevy's I have had in the last few years there was a fuse caused this code. I checked the owners manual to see if it could be similar but I did find anything. I checked autozone website and...

2005 TJ O2 sensor and exhaust question

Its been years since I have been on this forum (sold my zj's 6 years ago) but I figured out my password and I have a quick question. I am considering buying a 2005 TJ with a 4.0. Somebody but a banks monster exhaust and I am thinking they bypassed the o2 sensors. It looks like they have the...
