need help deciding on a lift kit

I put on a 2.5" Rubicon Express lift on my '93 YJ. Keep in mind mine is a leaf spring kit, not a coil spring kit like you're looking for. The ride was a bit rough in the beginning, but the springs eventually were broken in. I haven't had any problems with Rubicon Express. Other Jeepers have...

    Lots of body work

I've got a '93 YJ that needed body work as well. Both front fenders were replaced due to severe rust, with the replacements purchased from Quadratec.com. There were rust holes underneath the doors where yours are. I had a local vocational school repair the holes, and i believe they used a...

Where did you put your CB Antenna?

I don't have a CB antenna on my YJ.... yet. On a friend's YJ I installed the CB antenna on his spare tire stop that's attached to the corner of the body. It worked out well. Just marked the location of the bracket holes, drilled the holes into the tire stop, and installed the bracket. Took...

Is this going to work?(front bumper with winch)

:agree: I've wanted to add a winch to my YJ for a while, and I've got the same type of tubular bumper as 91renegadeyj. The only options I came up with are to get the bumper that xt master showed in the picture, or cut the current bumper and cap the open ends. 91renegadeyj, if you want to keep...

    Fairly New LEO

Some of you may have noticed a lack of activity from me the past month or two, and for good reason... I just finished my 5th week at the law enforcement academy for the Sheriff's Office. Before that was a series of ride-alongs on several shifts to become familiar with the office and some of the...

    Bulb Number

If you cannot find the bulb number via the internet, go to your local auto parts store (advance auto, auto parts, o'reily's, napa, etc.) or even wal-mart. They have lists for vehicles and what bulb numbers go where for each year.

    Want to buy a GPS

I've got a Garmin Quest 2, and I don't recommend it. The map route calculation is very slow. It constantly requests to recalculate the route (or does it automatically when depending on the user settings). Often times the unit has difficulty finding satellites (especially while driving). It's...

Jeepz.com (almost) Fall Giveaway - sponsored by Tuffy Security Products

Sweet!!! Tuffy Security Products rock! I've got their glove box and under-hood box, and they were the first investments that I made for my Jeep. The construction and design is awesome! Next on the list is a center console... and a Tuffy gift certificate would really help.... pick me! pick...

    Lifting ideas please??

Keep in mind that with the 4" suspension lift you may also need: a SYE (slip yolk eliminator) for the transmission, custom length drive shafts, extended brake lines (if not included in suspension lift kit), dropped pitman arm (if not included in kit), and consider upgrading your axles (not...

    89 Yj wierd smell

Photo is from a 1993 YJ parking brake pedal/release. The same pedal/release should be found on all YJ production years (someone correct me if needed). What year is your YJ? Post a few photos of your project if you have them and are able to do so.

    100,000 mi. maintenance

Don't forget these "minor" items: Wiper blades; windshield washer fluid; engine coolant; greaseable joints; all lights; battery connection; tire pressure (including the spare); tire tread. You may want to basically do your own VA vheicle safety inspection to make sure you cover all bases. Hope...

Looking at a jeep cherokee, what do you think?

Overheating issues can be addressed. We can help you out with that. You'll have more time to search for that auxillary fan switch after you buy it. If that's your only concern and, as Bounty said, if it's rust free (even mostly rust free), I'd seriously consider making that purchase. Welcome...

    It's a Hummer thing ?

Occasionally I drive a Hummer H2 limousine, a ******* of a machine that overheats on hot days and is a total pain in the rump to make a turn around a corner. NEVER have I had any other driver of a Hummer (H1, 2 or 3) wave to me, nor have I waved to any that passed by. At least once I've had...
