2nd Full Season With the Jeep

Couldn't be happier (except for mileage) with the '06 Unlimited. It took us places that our 4WD Kawasaki Mule couldn't go and we hever missed a single day of duck hunting because we couldn't get back into the wetlands area where our blinds are. We hunted 60 out of the 74 days in the season and...

Birds attracted to Unlimited's Tail Light?

This has happened to me many times recently. Just as one of the dawg's and I get ready to load up to head back home, there they are ... anywhere from 1-6 of them on the left tail light! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v413/NevadaJim/Nov%202010%20forward/100_5916-8.jpg :shades:

    Rain Water Leak

I have a 2006 Wrangler X. Late last fall I noticed a little water on the floor mat on the passenger side following a heavy rain. Thought at first I had left the window partially down but no, it was fully closed. Happened again during this week after another downpour. I ran a garden hose...

    We Keep Getting Messages

That I haven't posted for awhile. But this is hunting season. We train all year so we can hunt for just over 2 months. Give an old man and his dawgs a break, will ya? However, I talked to my hunting buds this morning and we agreed we need to post more Jeep pics. So here they are...

    Wrangler X For Three

We received 3" of rain Tuesday night and more Wednesday morning here. We didn't hunt yesterday knowing that the pasture leading 1/2 mile to our wetlands would be saturated and sloppy. We got there about 7 am this morning and found there was still a lot of standing water but decided to try it...

New Soft Top for '06 Wrangler X

I have one that's new. The hard top has been on the Jeep since it was bought. I've advertised it here and a few other places and haven't had any interest at all. Offered it at "any reasonable price" and still no offers/takers. Suggestions? Jim swfsinc@aol.com

    Ever See a Doodle Jeep?

Well, as of February I have one. It used to be strictly a yellar dawg Jeep but we added a Labradoodle pup to the family in February and it now goes to training in the Jeep just like the big dawgs ...

Now that hunting season is over

I said I'd post a few pics of what we did with the Jeep this season. Here is the front interior showing slip over seat covers. They are not a custom fit but sure get the job done for us. Cost a grand total of 36 for both at Academy Sports. Made a dawg restraint to keep our two Labs from...

    Season Break

We're into the "split" which is a two week break in the waterfowl season here in TX. Hunting resumes again on Dec 12th. Was a little slower than normal due to unseasonably mild weather up North this fall. We still had a couple good mornings like this ... Going to the 31-10.50-15s mud...

    Light Covers

The only thing on our Wrangler that seems to spook ducks are the rear light lenses and license plate. Even in moderate light conditions they tend to "shine". In sunlight they are beacons. So Mama made three covers from some camo material and it works like a charm.

Ever Been to an Off-Road Tire Circle-Jerk?

Just got home from one! You may have seen this topic ( http://www.jeepz.com/forum/cj-yj-tj-jk/27562-airing-up-while-off-road.html ) where I broke down and ordered a set of 5 Goodrich 31X10.50-15 T/A KM Mudders. They were promised to be in town from Dallas 90 miles away by noon...

    Airing UP While Off-road?

I'm ordering new 31X10.50-15 Goodrich mudders for my '06 TJ Unlimited but won't see them for a few weeks. With all the continuing rain here in N TX, I'm having to drop down to 15 psi in my 30X9.50-15 Goodyear ATs to get through some sloshy areas on the way to our duck hunting ponds. I'd like to...

    Need Suggestions, Please

In June of 2008 I sold my 4WD Kawasaki Mule and bought a very clean '06 Wrangler Unlimited 4WD 6 speed with only 10,500 miles on it. It's intended use was for around our small ranch, and a hunting property we own five miles down the highway from here. The Jeep allows me to drive it to where we...
