Front 12v outlet fix

I have 2004 Jeep Liberty. Right now the front 12v outlet is on while the car if turned off. I would like it to be off when the car is turned off. What is the way to do it? Please kindly provide detailed instructions. Thank you very much. :lol:

That's a re-wire to auxilary or install a switch. A HAYNES manual would have wiring diagrams. My cherokee is the same, one on aux. and the other has constant power. I know some vehicle have a switch to turn it on/off. You can get manual online or at an auto parts store fairly cheep.

Add a relay between the current 12v and the lighter plug and use a ign power to trigger the relay.

Thank you for your reply. I don't really understand it. Is there a video somewhere on how to do it? Do you think workshop will do it for me?
