AW4 Dana 20 adapter?

Not in a CJ (actually in my '82 AMC Spirit) but I figured someone may have done that swap already. Looking for something compact to fit next to my trans I'm installing in a 2wd (soon to be 4x4) car. I like the drivability of the Eagle, but not the huge floor hump for the tcase.
I already have the whole front axle assembly to bolt in from an Eagle (running Chev V8 CV joints on the front) Since the front diff doesn't move (IFS) I only need enough clearance to not hit the AW4 trans (which is narrower than a 998 or 727)

can the two be put together.. AW4's are 23 spline, isn't the 20 27 spline? once you get the conversion stub shaft made, your drive train is getting a little long. isn't the wheel base in those amc's real short?

That's why I was a D20 or something narrow and short like that. I may have to build my own! (that will take a bit as I have no machine shop anymore)
