I looking into fabbin a front bumper on my 94ZJ. I am wondering where in the front bumper are the airbag sensors and how there are activated (crush or momentum?) and if the contacts are normally open or normally closed. I really would mind keeping the airbag useful for the street but be able to switch it off offroad.

this probably doesn't help much, but i didn't have to worry about them when getting my arb put on. as to where they are...i'm not sure.

Finally Got My TJ Lifted (Pics)...

under the headlights you will find a couple of voids in the body work. behind the stock front bumper. they look like a couple of 1" thick 2" square little boxes. they are momentum switches. both must create a circuit to activate the air bags. my solution was to pull the fuse and run wires from the fuse terminals to a dash switch with an inline fuse. works great. 93 zj.
