HOW DO I FIND OUT WHAT MY TRANSMISSION CODE IS, THE DEALERSHIP NEEDS TO KNOW SO I CAN ORDER SOME PARTS, ITS AN 89 CHEROKEE,
WITH A 4.0L I6, WITH A 5SPD STANDARD TRANSMISSION

Code? You'll have to find where it's stamped into the transmission case.

As for transmission model, it's either the Peugeot BA10/5 (seam is lengthwise on the transmission case) or the AX15 (seam is across the transmission, with a 1" thick intermediate plate). The Peugeot was used until mid-year '89 when they started using the AX15.
