clutch pilot bearing

I am trying to resolve a problem with the clutch pilot bearing. I am on the second one to try to install and this one is also too large for the hole . The size of the on listed for my cherokee is 1.055 o.d. This is too big to even get started into the hole. I sucessfully destroyed the last one,I wont try to install this new one. Are there more than one size of these that I should be looking at? need help quick as I mus get this install done this weekend. I have even offered to pay someone to figure it out, but no takers. help!!!

I believe they changed size over the years. What year & engine do you have?

the engine i rebuilt is an orphan. no year known, fella i bought it from couldn't recall,even though he was a dealership.i believe to recall another tech from the same dealer said early 90,s. at this point everything has fit correctly. the hold up is this bearing.
