Thread: Vaccum canister

  1. Vaccum canister

I have a 91 jeep Cherokee and my 4x4 drive is currently not working...I crawled under her to check the vacuum actuator canister and realized it was loose ... Should it be loose or have a tight fit to the axle?????

    Re: Vaccum canister

The vacuum mechanism will spin slightly in place.

Pull the two vacuum lines from the front axle and feel for strong vacuum in each port while somebody shifts from 2wd to 4wd and back. Strong vacuum should switch between the two lines.
