floor board sealant

im replacing some of my floor boards in my xj and i was wondering what would be the best stuff to use to seal up some gaps and edges.

I used black silicone on mine but if you want automotive stuff you can go to smyths, Napa, or any higher end automotive store and get panel seam sealer.
