Help in Needed for a New Member

I have a Grand Cherokee Jeep 2002 WJ 2.7 CRD

Have been experiencing problems since Christmas ...tracked down broken wires in the drivers door loom and repaired... now after sending it to a Jeep dealership it has come up with a fault code of P0702...

A ring round for prices for a shift assembly etc has left me white haired....

Surely there must be a way to repair this problem... rather than replace...

the report says... " Shift lever causing intermittent bus communication faults..."

Your thoughts and any help would be appreciated....

First off welcome to Jeepz!

I am fairly certain the Grand never came with a CRD motor here in the states. The Jeep Liberty did though around that year.

Use a trusted mechanic to do the work on any of your vehicles. The stealerships seem to mess more up then they fix.

Per another Jeep website your P0702 (transmission control system) It is the black box located under the center console. Make sure all the wires are attached and not damaged.
