Need to check timing chain or belt on a 4.0?
I've got a '96 XJ w/ 4.0 and I've had it from miles 88k through 177k (now). Far as I know the timing belt/chain has never been looked at. Should I be concerned with changing it out or any kind of maintenance with it?

the 4.0L is a timing chain... no maintenance required. Also it is a long lived seldom fails part...

I believe my timing chain just broke, and thankfully in my driveway. I have searched for info regarding my concern for further damage if the my '96 inline 6 - 4.0 is an "interference engine", but without any luck. (265,000 miles)
