06 commander front differential bushings

Been away for here for nearly 8 years after trading off TJ. Good to see some familiar names still posting. Just picked up a used commander with a unknown lift ( approximately 3 inchs) with the hard jump and thump of front differential as bushings are completely destroyed.

Do the lifts for these add any wear on these? I will be checking bearings and cv joints during this repair. Anything else I should be checking while I am there?

Had to look it ip to see what you were talking about.
Here is s good video on changing out the bushings.

If the geometry of the drive train changes the forces required to transfer torque and horsepower changes too. Unless the drivetrain is lowered as the body is lifted there will be an increase in force on the drivetrain and bushings. But those likely wore out on their own.

Just wanted to update. This became a 14 hour project ended have to replace left front axle shaft as well. But fixed the thump going into gear and one source of noise.

Glad to hear you solved some issues.
