Ok all you Jeep-O-philes.....here's my problem:
I'm an original owner of a '93 Grand Cherokee with 96K miles on it and have never had any transmission problems till this past week.
When it's started cold i can put it in gear and drive maybe 5 miles or so.....then the transmission will simply stop working....it's like it has slipped into neutral and NONE of the gears will work, including reverse. If I let it sit
for 20 minutes or so I can start it and get it to go another mile maybe before this happens again. Even when the transmission is working it doesn't feel or sound quite right........no grinding or anything.. more subtle, but
not right. I checked transmission fluid and it's full and clean......am wondering if this could be an electronic controller of some sort gone bad? Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.......don't want to
put alot of $ into a 10 year old car if I can avoid it.........BTW car has Full Time 4WD auto with V8 engine.........thanks...........
