help opening hood on 98 cherokee

Ok so the power steering went on my 98 cherokee then it over heated so went to open hood to figure out what is going on and the latch/release snapped. Pulled the grill tried to pop the latch nothing. Any help on how to get this open I would greatly appreciate.

I always remove the bezel and headlight, then the headlight buckets, then unbolt the hood catch right and left. It may be a little different for your 98 with the newer style header/grill. But the latch and catch mechanism is likely the same or very similar.
