Hello all, I am new to all that is jeep so bear with me. I have a 1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport I6
I was driving in the snow last night in a foot of snow (cool) after about 2 hours I started getting a "thunk thunk thunk.." noise from the front end the faster I went the faster the noise and vibration got.. this was while going straight. Noise would go away while under load only while coasting would it come back.. here is the strange part... when I shift into 2wheel drive the noise is worse and constant.

Any ideas?:(

Start with u joints ck them shake them look for rust if nothing try ball joints jack front up get 2x4 or something about 4' long slide under tire and lift see if u get any play or sounds

Sounds like a u joint as mentioned before. If the noise is as bad as you say it should be pretty obvious what joint it's coming from. I doubt it's and ball joints but check them wile your at it.

Yeah, found it... very silly, turned out to be my lugg nuts.
Thanks for suggestions.. Good news was the front end looks real good.
