    Brakes

Hi. I'm new to the forum and to Jeeps. I just got a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the brake line going from the front to rear blew about 2 days ago. I replaced the line and bled the brakes and now I am getting a grinding sound from the rear brakes. Can anyone help? I thought it might be that they weren't getting pressure before and are now, or that they might still have air in the line. Thanks to anyone willing to help.

Best thing to do is jack it up and pull the hub so you can inspect the rear brakes.

    Re: Brakes

As mentioned inspect. Put the back end n jack stands. Look to see there isn't dirt or a rock between the dust shield and rotor. Or a bent dust shield. Look to see the caliper isn't stuck. Make sure the parking brake is released and if that is the source. Have someone apply the brakes wile you watch the pads move.
It could be as simple as the rock or the guides needing to be greased.

    Re: Brakes

Turned out the pressure was week from the line and I had almost no rear brakes. I replaced the calipers, roters and pads on both sides.
