242j vs 242wj ?

Hey I have a 1998 xj and I messed up the transfer case while on the trail. It has the 242j model t case in it but I was wondering if the 242 wj I have laying around would fit right in? Both are off the 4.0l.

They used different transmissions so measure the length of the input shaft between the two, paying attention to the mark where the seal rides on the input shaft.
