2011 Jeep Liberty - heat not working on driver's side

Hey all,

The heat in my 2011 Jeep Liberty is no longer hot, it just blows cold air. The passenger side blows warm air, but probably not as hot as it used to.

One shop said it would cost $1-$2k to fix, as there is apparently an issue where 'stuff' gets clogged into the - something - and it's behind the engine block.

Is that true? Is there any other way of clearing this out that is slightly more affordable?

Thank you in advance for your help and advice!

Is it all the vents (i.e. floor, defrost, etc)?

Any chance they said the "heater core" was clogged?

Have you had a antifreeze flush and fill? It is possible the heater core is clogged. You could flush these yourself easily.
Ill check but is there a flow valve to your heater core?
The fins inside can get clogged if you have a lot of debris in the vehicle floating around. It gets sucked up and filtered by the heater core.
