ax-5 problems

i am replacing my ax-5 with a rebuilt one but I need to know the difference between internal and external slave. can i tell without pulling the transmission. i have a 94 yj with a 2.5. thanks

you WANT external if you can get it... it is much better if you ever have to replace it

The '94 is external slave, as all '94+ jeeps with manual transmissions are.

Look halfway up the bellhousing on the driver's side, from underneath, you'll see where the external clutch slave bolts to the bellhousing. Internal slave has clutch hydraulic lines running into the bellhousing.
