4.2L?

Gross/large Vacuum leak

My friend was looking at a Jeep Islander. The guy selling it said it had a 4.2L in it and I've never heard of a 4.2L except a 4.0L being bored out. Was there actually a 4.2L?

4.2L is the 258 that jeep used for decades. Was carbuerated and used in YJ's from '87-'90 until being replaced by the fuel injected 4.0L in '91.

The 4.2L is just a carbureted version of the 4.0L. It has alot less horse power (around 115) and about the same torque (around 212). It's a good motor aside from being slow in stock form and being carbureted.
