RE: new front axle

I cant believe thier are no grease fittings on a tj drive shaft. None on the shafts and none on the u-joints.

Funny, there isn't any on my mom's car either! Coincidence? I think not!!

I would recommend disassembly of the Double Cardan joint (CV) on the front driveshaft and liberally greasing that sucker about every 40K or 50K, more often if wheelin in wet/muddy conditions. That thing will take out the transfer case once it goes bad.

They will generally start squeeking to let you know something is wrong, service it quickly thereafter.

There are 2 kinds of u-joints (in general)...greasable and non-greasable. The sealed ones are not meant to be greased.

Eventually, you should replace everything with greasable stuff. It sure makes things easier to maintain
