Hesitation... Help!

My 88 YJ (4.2L) starts fine and runs OK when cold, but after a few minutes (after warming up some) the engine starts hesitating and has significant power loss - almost like it is out of fuel. What would cause it to run poorly only a few minutes after starting? The vacuum hoses all seem fine, but I havent gone through them all with a fine-tooth comb yet. Any ideas?

The oem Carter carb is junk, consider replacing it with a Motorcraft 2150 with a Mr. Gasket carb adapter. There are many web writeups on the conversion. Your jeep will run a lot better.
