cj w amc 360 temp and fuel problem(gauge)

I had a CJ with a 360, the fuel is probably not connected in the tank... as far as the thermostat goes, i dunno. My gas gauge was not connected so I filled up every so often and only ran out twice when I owned her.

Check your connections at the fuel tank for corroded wires. Also check the grounds.
The temp sensor for the 304/360/401 are the same.
It's a strong possibility that the wiring behind the dash is the root cause of both. I haven't seen many CJ's who wiring didn't look as if a frag grenade was tossed under the dash.
